For those curious about Ayurveda basics, this consult explains Ayurveda’s holistic system of health and vitality. Ayurveda groups the five elements (space, air, fire, water, earth) into three doshas – vata, pitta and kapha. One is predominant in either one or two doshas and this is called ones, “constitution”. In this consult, one’s personal constitution is determined through pulse analysis and a brief Q&A. I explain how one’s primary dosha is best supported through foods and lifestyle, as well as how the dosha is prone to imbalance. Easy and effective yoga, nutrition, breathing practices, and self-care tips are shared that support one’s primary dosha.

Self-care suggestions are based in yoga, nutrition, breathing practices, meditation, creative writing prompts, and Ayurveda self-care therapies like massage and marma therapy. Ayurveda Acupressure Session
Remove energy blocks in the nervous system and awaken the body’s innate healing intelligence. Ayurveda marma therapy is similar to the Chinese medicine system of acupressure. Use of tuning fork, mantra, essential oils and crystals further facilitates healing and enjoyment. Marma therapy helps facilitate clear and balanced flow of communication in the tissues, circulatory system, nervous system, lymph, vital organs, chakras, and energetic pathways. It especially supports sound sleep, improved digestion, sustained feelings of calm and ease, and greater creativity.

Personal Ayur-Yoga Session
Unroll your yoga mat and unfold the map leading to greater strength, flexibility, vitality, and ease in your body and mind. Weaving Ayurveda with yoga, this session enhances healing and vitality in the body and mind. Session includes a doshic analysis, so that the poses and breathing practice support one’s unique needs. Use of marma acupressure points and essential oils creates a soothing experience to support stress release. Handout of suggested yoga poses for home practice is included.
